Philip had a son who emigrated to England. There is a story that the son had a daughter who was in the employ of the English royal family.
Here's what my meager notes say about Sophia: Grossmother came to America on her own, in her twenties, and met her husband Abraham (Albert) Huber in San Francisco. It's said she was the business head of the Konditorei they established. She sacrificed for her sons' education, particularly in music and German (she refused to accept letters from them unless in German, and even during the Great War, she defiantly spoke German).
Sophia was embittered when the German insurance company refused to pay for repairs to the Konditorei after the 1906 earthquake. She'd been expecting to be wealthy in her old age. Her husband died just a few years later, and she lived her widowhood with son Philip's family in San Francisco and San Leandro. She changed her mind about living in the Altenheim (retirement home for German-Americans) when she found there'd be no refund if she died.
Her daughter-in-law Terese says she was happiest just before she died, when she finally stopped fretting about money. Her funeral was conducted by Pastor Sherman Potter in San Leandro's Presbyterian church.

Archbishop Roos
Some relatives believe that Sophia's family name was actually De Roos, and that she may have been related to an Archbishop. Johann Christian Roos was Bishop of Limburg 1885-1886 and Archbishop of Freiburg (across the Rhine from Alsace) 1886-1896. I don't know when or where he was born. If I could establish a link between him and Sophia, it would lead to lots of data about that part of my ancestry. In the mean time, here are some links related to the Archbishop, Limburg, Freiburg, and the Catholic Church in southwestern Germany:
